Physical and mental wellbeing sessions

One You Merton recently held it’s first physical and mental wellbeing collaboration session with Merton Uplift – a free integrated Primary Care Mental Health service accessible to anyone living in the borough of Merton or registered with a Merton GP who is aged 18 years or over.

The idea of doing joint sessions with Merton Uplift is to cater to the needs of people’s overall wellbeing – Merton Uplift talking about mental health & well-being and One You Merton talking more about physical wellness.

Upcoming events

The next event is due to take place on Monday 2nd September 2019 and is made up of 2 sessions:

The first session is provided by Merton Uplift and looks at:

  • Methods to develop our own self-care skills for our general well-being
  • Exploring the 5 areas of self-care: physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual
  • Exploring the myths around relaxation and self-care
  • Learning practical methods to practice self-care and relaxation: breathing techniques, meditation, mindfulness

The second session is provided by One You Merton and includes:

  • FREE mini health MOTs which include:
    – Performing Blood Pressure/Atrial Fibrillation checks
    – Carbon monoxide monitoring
    – Body Mass Index (BMI) checks and referrals if needed
    – Healthy living workshop
